What sizes do Wooden Side Rails come in?
The three lengths of wood rails are: 76-inches, 82-inches, and 86-inches, for a variety of bed sizes. Since these are side rails, they do not have a width measurement (the width of the bed will depend on where they hook into your headboard and footboard.) To determine which length of rails you need, measure the wood of your existing rails (not counting the hooks on the ends.) If you do not have existing rails you are replacing, then measure the length of your mattress and choose the closest size which is longer than your mattress. Side rails are normally a few inches longer than your mattress to allow room for bedding.
- 76-Inch Rails: Fits most Twin or Full Size Beds
- 82-Inch Rails: Fits most Queen or King Size Beds
- 86-Inch Rails: Fits most California King Size Beds
How can I make sure the hooks in your wood rails match mine?
The hooks in the ends of our wooden bed rails are an industry-standard shape and size, and will fit most American-Made beds manufactured within the last 40 years. Our wood rails are high-quality replacements and are the same ones used by many major manufacturers. However, to ensure the pins in your headboard and footboard are the proper spacing, we have created a special Wooden Bed Rail Hook Plate Fit Tester which is a great way to prevent purchasing wood rails which don't fit. When installed in the ends of our wood rails, the hook plates protrude about one inch.
Do your Wooden Bed Rails have a warranty?
Yes - The Hospitality Bed and Bed Claw Elite brands of wooden rails carry a Ltd. Lifetime Warranty if they are purchased and installed together with a steel center support with legs. You can find various styles and sizes of steel supports in the Center Supports category on this website. When wood rails and a center support are purchased together, the price of the support is automatically discounted in the cart.
How Much Center Support Do I Need?
If the bed is supporting an average amount of weight, we recommend at least two center support bars with two legs each (such as a MightyLift FQ) for a Full size bed, or two support bars with three legs each (such as a MightyLift QK) for Queen or King size beds. If the bed will be supporting a large mattress or be under high demand, heavy-duty support options are also available.
How do I determine the proper height for a center support?
The height of a center support is measured from the floor to the bottom of your box spring. The center supports are adjustable within a certain range (specific height ranges are mentioned on each support listing.) The most common height range is 7-11 inches. If your bed is right on the limit of 11 inches, we recommend getting the support designed for 11-18 inches, since these come with a removable extension, giving you more range for the perfect fit. Supports are also adjustable width, and most will fit multiple sizes of bed (Full/Queen, Queen/King, etc.)
None of the finishes on your website match my bed - Can I get a custom color?
All of the available colors for our Wooden Bed Rails are listed on the website, and color choices vary based on the model of wood rail. Keep in mind that every computer screen will display the colors a bit differently, and colors at the factory can change a bit from batch to batch as well, so the colors shown are close, but not exact. If you need to match a specific color for your bed, we offer the Hospitality Bed Rails in an Unfinished Option, so you can finish them yourself for the best color.
